Blessing Your Husband - Challenge 3

Go back and review Challenge 1 and Challenge 2 and lets move on to this week's challenge.

This next week we are going to focus on Praying For Our Husbands.

That's it? No, that is not it, by doing this we are relinquishing our want and desire to control our husbands, as if we actually had control in the first place.  By praying for our husbands we are confessing our need for a Savior in our marriage and proclaiming that God knows what is best for our husbands!

If you don't know where to begin, start by saying, " Oh God, help me to pray, because I cannot pray by myself."  "Such a prayer helps us to recognize how prayer expresses our deepest need before the kingship of God."  Dr. James Houston

Through prayer we can "receive the patience, accept our limitations, and ask for steady help, sustenance, and direction, especially when our influence approaches its limit."  Debra Evans

Don't get discouraged if you don't know what to pray.  The Bible says "We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express," Romans 8:26  Did you catch that, the Holy Spirit will help us, He is interceding for us.  He knows how we ought to pray in accordance with God's will!  Praise the Lord, because a lot of times I don't know what to pray or how to express my heart.

"Prayer does not fit us for the greater works;
prayer is the greater work"
Oswald Chambers
