2018 Backlog - Zeke's Fort

Zeke has been working on his fort for over a year!
It has morphed and grown so much since the beginning.
In fact, here is where it began.  A little makeshift kitchen area from a few years prior.

He asked for plywood and other wood scraps for his birthday last year...

...and just kept adding on.
It is one of the first places he takes visitors when they come over to the house.

Zeke Turns 13

Right on time in a fury of intensity and emotion. That is how this kid entered the world 13 years ago today.
.
.
Born on his actual due date. He knew it was time to enter the world but there were so many obstacles in his way. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and he was tilted. The C-section room was being prepped and I was told that if he didn’t arrive after this next push then we would need to rush to plan B. The doctor’s worked as I labored until he was free.
.
.
Due to an irregular heartbeat we had been monitoring for his last few months in the womb he was met with a team of pediatric specialists who immediately whisked him off.
.
.
Little did I know how perfectly orchestrated this day had become to prepare me for this little life we have been honored to be a part of.
.
.
This boy...this young man, has a special connection with the heart of his Maker...His God...who holds his future, with all its unexpected struggles and perfectly timed detours.
.
.
Zeke, I am SO very proud of you. I love watching you overcome. Nothing about you is ordinary. You love extraordinarily. You feel intensely. You process creatively. As your dad and I begin to loosen our grip a little bit more just keep chasing hard after Jesus. We’re here cheering you on.
.
.
Happy Birthday Ezekiel Cohen, love Mom
