Labeling things!
Toy bins, shoe bins, daddy's office door...
Labels can help de-clutter your house and allows everyone to see exactly where things belong, no matter how old they are!
You can draw pictures yourself or find some to print off of your computer. I then used packaging tape to "laminate" them and punched a hole in them to tie with a string. It may not be the prettiest thing you ever did see, but it makes my heart look prettier when things are in their "home", and that's important. Very important!
Instead of telling the kids over (and over and over) that the superheroes don't go in with the tools and the pocketbooks have a separate bin than the Barbie stuff I made labels for each bin with a picture AND the words so they can figure out which bin is which on their own, enabling me to keep up with more important things (like blogging or watching Jude bounce up and down in the Johnny-Jump-Up:).
