September - Vacation and The Long-Awaited Routine

Via Vacation was a bit different this year. Instead of our Lake Anna house we have gone to for about a decade we made our way to the beach. Lake Anna had an outbreak of bacteria in the water, sending many people to the hospital, resulting in the lake being shut down. Even though it opened up shortly before vacation we played it safe and found another place to go. It was great to be together, of course, and the beach is also so relaxing to walk, sit, play or just watch as the waves roll in.

The rest of the month was spent getting into a welcomed rhythm of routine and life.

The student worship team began this semester

Jude worked hard and got all the necessary gear to begin ice skating lessons and open stick and puck.

Jude and Josh also began a small group called First Tribe with a group of preteens/young teens and dads as they walk through this next stage of life together. I love the bond they are creating during their monthly meetings.

A Wedding And A Vacation

We had our annual Via Vacation and I literally had my phone in my room the whole time and got 1 picture. ONE. Jay took a couple of our family on picture night but that's all I got, ha!

When your best friend's daughter and her new fiancé ask if you'll do their premarital counseling, officiate and do the music for their wedding it is an easy yes, Even if it means you have to leave your vacation early. We spent the better part of the year meeting with Brett and Macey doing premarital counseling and getting to know them on a deeper level. We have done plenty of premarital counseling before, but I told Josh that this one seemed different because Macey quite literally feels like an extension of our family since she's grown up with us. It was a sweet day of memories and moments that we are so grateful we got to be a part of.

Via Vacation 2022

Looking Back May 2022

 May was so full!

We finished up school with end of year testing. We took off to Jekyll Island for our first of MANY summer wedding Josh was either officiating or we were playing for. We stayed and made a family vacation out of that beautiful trip. Then we came home and began tackling some more demo of our carport. The silk fence also went up around our property to make way of the construction that was in the beginning stages in the properties around our home. I also spent some time spying on my favorite Domino's employee:)
