We're getting pretty darn good at "creating environments" in our hotel rooms so that we can all enjoy our stay.
The kids get to sleep in a fort! You can't beat that.
We don't have to go to bed when the kids do=)
Cai gets his own little section so that when he peeks over the top of his pack-n-play, albeit as cute as it is, he won't see any of us and will lay back down and go back to sleep. That's the plan anyway!
We're all about trying to keep our level of sanity at a tolerable level on these ministry trips.

Huh. That's good thinking. We'll have to try that! I've been so desperate as to set up the pack N play in the bathroom. Maybe the tent thing would work even better! haha .... parenthood.
Yeah, we've definitely done the bathroom or even a closet, but when nature calls it can make it a little difficult.
We had a friend who had to pee so bad, but didn't want to wake up her baby in the bathroom that she peed in a diaper, ha! True story=)

oh the joys of parenting in a hotel room =) great idea! we need to do something like that for vacay this year!
i still laugh when i think about lindsey peeing in the diaper! =)
Oooh- great idea! We have 5 kids under 4 (and one on the way) and staying in hotels has gotten icky. Do you bring something to put on the wall to hook the sheets to? Or do you just use picture frames and stuff that's there already? I'm really curious.... (Hey- y'all should design and sell kits! How cool would that be?)
Thanks for stopping by McKinney family=)
My sister had gotten my son a "tent" for Christmas. It came with 2 camo. sheets and a few strings and clips. We added a few more of our own top sheets and close pins. We connected to whatever we could find in the hotel room. The curtains the TV stand, lamps etc. It seems to work nicely.
Great idea. Selling hotel tent kits, ha! We'll have to look into that;)
What a great idea for a gift! I'm always into making our own things that are normally store-bought- it's more fun that way (at least for me :).) I realized that I accidentally "signed in" to comment using my old blog- sorry if you went over there and had to read my nursing woes... I need to just delete it, but it's there for my memories... I went to NGC(U) and, I think, you played the violin the the BSU band, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, I found your blog through someone else's and have enjoyed reading about your sweet family. My husband is beginning seminary in the fall, so I like reading your blog to kind of learn from one who has "gone ahead." Anyhow, hope you have a good day!
Yeah, Kate. That's me. I was the violinist in the NGC, BSU praise band and Josh, my husband was one of the electric guitarists. Did you go there?
Yep- I graduated in '05 with an Education Degree. Taught in a low-income school and couldn't stand knowing that "my" children were going home to rough home lives, so I became a foster parent- met my husband and here we are, 20 foster kids later. (Don't worry- we only kept 3 of them :).) I'm so enjoying reading your blog- just read the story about the lady you helped... people underestimate the power of just listening to people and taking and interest in their lives- you've planted seeds and now we can all pray for someone else to come along and water them :).
