Plastic Bugs and Hairclips

Today has been such a relaxing day. It has been WAY TOO HOT to play outside today so we've been trying to be creative inside. Even the kid's pool felt more like bath water after only sitting in the heat for a few minutes. So, Rainy got out the memory game and we found ALL 1,267 matches. Shew! The rest of the day has been spent playing with plastic bugs and hairclips. I'm not exaggerating. The kids have literally spent hours playing with these guys. Quite a combination for sure. What do you do on HOT days when you can't even seem to cool off inside? Any ideas of things to do INSIDE that could get rid of any excess energy that the kids might have?

Turn the A/C up and make it 65° in the house. Then go make a latte because its the perfect weather (inside) for a hot drink...

we turn down the AC and snuggle under blankets to read our favorite books!

When my kiddos were little we did "shaving cream painting" on the kitchen table. Spray a little pile on the table in front of them and let them have fun! Great way to practice letters and shapes, too!

If Zeke is too young for the shaving cream, you can use canned whipped cream instead... just be ready for a bath!
